Do you have what it takes to get your synch on?
Proud Divas for Life
Aspen Divas invites teams of professional skiers and boarders from the around the world to compete in events that test their skills in moguls, racing and synchronized skiing at the 2018 Aspen World Synchro Championships, April 5–7, at Aspen Mountain.
Synchronized skiing transforms the typically solo downhill sport into an energetic and creative team pursuit that’s spectacular to watch. Judges’ scores are based on the team’s technical accuracy, difficulty of figures executed, overall appeal and synchronicity of the participating downhillers.
Established in 1998, Aspen Divas encompasses three Aspen-based women’s synchro teams of skiing professionals within the Aspen Skiing Company who compete regionally and practice regularly at Aspen’s four mountains. The mission of the Divas organization and coaching staff is to further develop local elite female skiers and create a community for female ski professionals.
More than a dozen six- or eight-person teams of ski and snowboard instructors from around the globe travel to the Aspen Mountain’s epic slopes annually to compete in the Aspen World Synchro Championships. The top five teams from last year’s competition were: Argenteam, Aspen Demo Team, Whistler Demo Team, Beaver Creek Men’s Demo and Aspen Team Diva.
So, are you ready to get your synch on? Find out how to start your own synchro team to participate, watch the mesmerizing competition from Bonnie’s on Aspen Mountain or sign up to be a volunteer.
