Sky Ute Casino Resort

Load up your adventure vehicle and motor over to Ignacio, in Colorado’s rural southwest (also known as the Four Corners region). Here you'll find ridged and rolling La Plata Mountain views, astonishing heritage sites and Navajo State Park’s numerous water sports. Pause your road trip for family-friendly entertainment at Sky Ute Casino Resort.

Sky Ute accommodations include standard resort rooms, spacious suites named after significant Southern Ute tribal members and an accessible RV park with hookups for electricity, sewer and water. Three on-site restaurants — Seven Rivers, Willows Café Bistro and Rolling Thunder Grill — serve Americana classics like tender bone-in ribeye, cheesy angus burgers and apple pie à la mode. Then there’s the resort’s raison d’être: All the games of chance, including hundreds of slots and table games like craps and roulette.

What makes it special?

The words “smoke free,” “family friendly” and “casino hotel” don’t always go hand in hand, but here they do, and we think that’s pretty awesome.

The most Colorado thing about this place

The Southern Ute Indian Tribe called Colorado home long before it was called Colorado, and the Sky Ute Casino Resort is operated by the tribe on Southern Ute Indian Reservation land. A visit to Ignacio means more than just a weekend of fun — you can learn about the area’s cultural significance at the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum.

Coolest amenity

It was impossible to stick with just one since there’s a 24-lane bowling alley with its own arcade, a float-worthy lazy river and pool, not to mention 18 holes of fam-friendly mini golf that’ll let the little ones get their wiggles out.

Top sensory encounter you’ll experience

Bite into those steaming-hot tamales at Willows, and let the world melt away. These fragrantly delicious treats, served in either red or green chili, arrive with a hefty helping of homemade pinto beans. Pro tip: Ask for “Christmas style” if you cannot decide which color chili to get.

Our favorite traveler review

“We chose Sky Ute Resort to be close to Navajo Lake and had a wonderful stay. Entire facility has gone smoke free, including the casino, so that was a real plus! Bowling alley was a great time for the family. The rooms are wonderful with some of the nicest treatments and finishes we’ve experienced. Beds were excellent! The best treat was the on-site steakhouse ... Was one of the best meals, ever! Price-value for entire resort was good and the entire staff were exceptional and welcoming. Highly recommend this property.” — Dale L., Tripadvisor
