The Ridge cabin in Pagosa Springs perches on a shrub-covered ridge with blue sky and white, fluffy clouds in the background.

The Ridge

Tuck yourself away in a modern cabin boasting startling San Juan Mountain views on 72 acres of land. The best part — it’s just under 2 miles from the heart of Pagosa Springs.

Perched on a hillside — or, dare we say, a ridge? — this two-bedroom, one-bath cabin offers endless panoramas. Designed specifically as a vacation rental, the property offers privacy, all the modern comforts and miles of gasp-worth scenery.

Looking to visit with a group? Not to worry. One of the bedrooms, accessed by a ladder, features three twin-size beds, so you can pack your kiddos or friend group into this comfy-cozy area.

What makes it special?

Cruise up a winding gravel drive to an angular escape with so many windows you’ll feel like you’re in a fishbowl — in a good way.

The most Colorado thing about this place

You need a 4x4 or AWD vehicle to get here, especially in winter. Don’t forget snow tires, too.

Coolest amenity

It’s the deck — you can post up here to see cute lil’ creatures, like chattering chipmunks and fluttering birds. Plus, it’s an idyllic spot to eyeball the kaleidoscope of colors blazing across the sky at sunrise and sunset.

Most unexpected amenity

So often wonderful vacation rentals don’t allow pets, but that’s not the case here. The host will consider up to two dogs with prior approval. They even provide dog bowls. Woot!

Room with the best view

We’re definitely going with the living room. Its wall of windows, that we’ve mentioned already, showcases the natural wonders of the area — an evergreen forest panorama with towering mountain peaks in the background.

Our favorite traveler review

“The views from the cabin are amazing! Truly world class! The cabin is the perfect size, with space smartly dedicated to exactly what is needed. The giant windows let you soak in the amazing view, and it is perched up on a high point without any obstructions to interrupt the view. It is also located close to downtown for easy access to the hot springs, restaurants and hiking. I hope to stay here again very soon.” — Michael, airbnb
