The Rally Hotel

Set smack in the middle of Denver’s Lower Downtown district (called “LoDo” by locals), The Rally Hotel centers around all things baseball. This swanky joint is part of McGregor Square, a shiny entertainment complex just steps from Coors Field.

If you’re a Colorado Rockies fan, look no further. You can expect thoughtful nods to America’s favorite pastime throughout The Rally (it’s the team’s official hotel after all). The interior is playful and warm (think wood over marble, leather over chrome) with a subtle mid-century-modern influence.

You don’t have to love baseball to feel at home at The Rally, though. Sure, the Coors Field jumbotron is almost always in sight, and it’s not uncommon to hear joyful cheers from fans float about. But if you look past the plays, you’ll notice McGregor Square’s shoppers and diners keep the fresh, vibrant energy going, and the hotel’s communal atmosphere fosters lively connection.

What makes it special?

Besides its stellar location? It’s all the baseball-themed details. Make note of the sport’s artful presence: the lobby’s leather-paneled walls with red stitching, not unlike a catcher’s mitt; signed bats, balls and bases encased in museum-quality shadow boxes; and plaid carpets shaded in Rockies purple. The bar even serves an elevated spin on ballpark-themed snacks, like “mini” corn dogs and sliders.

The most Colorado thing about this place

How about the number of craft breweries nearby? There’s 15 within a mile, to be exact. If you love local suds, you’re in the right place.

Coolest amenity

It’s the books, of course! Denver’s own Tattered Cover Book Store hand-selects a book bundle for each and every room, perfect to use in the room’s cozy reading nook.

Room with the best view

Rooms on the McGregor Square side of The Rally offer clear views of the Coors Field jumbotron. You’ll love all of them, though: Each room is fitted with thoughtful details like a selection of local lagers and a stocked coffee bar.

Top sensory encounter you’ll experience

Most definitely, it’s the sound effects. Listen for the crowd’s cheerful lilts, the crack of a bat or the roaring boom of an umpire’s call — best heard from the hotel’s open-air plaza, where Rockies games are cast onto a mega-screen.

Our favorite traveler review

“My wife and I have been frequently traveling to Denver for years. We've stayed at numerous hotels downtown, and The Rally is by far our favorite one. Each floor has a separate theme, which is pretty cool, and the rooms on the McGregor Square side have a stunning view of the outdoor Jumbotron. The Original [restaurant] served a phenomenal American-themed breakfast (make a reservation because it's very popular, especially on the weekends). McGregor Square itself is a place you can hang out in all day — especially if you're a sports fan.” — Justin S., Yelp

Things to see & do nearby

There’s plenty to explore in McGregor Square. Experience a pop-up ice-skating rink in winter, shop from local outfitters or snack on buttery, panko-topped oysters Rockefeller from Call Me Pearl. Everyone raves about Meow Wolf at Convergence Station, and for good reason. Only a 10-minute drive from the hotel, this brain-bending permanent art exhibition is part performance, part immersion.

A few blocks away is Union Station, where you can grab a luxurious lunch or latte before catching the light rail to other districts. If you want to stay in the area but venture beyond McGregor Square, swing by Wynkoop Brewing Company, an acclaimed small-batch brewery housed in an antique industrial building.
