Niwot Inn & Spa

Niwot Inn & Spa

Visit Niwot, a tiny town mere minutes from Boulder and Longmont, for its central location, foothills fun and a boutique-y B&B called Niwot Inn & Spa.

Snuggled in a cute, lil’ historic district, the inn is within walking distance of downtown dining and shopping or a quick drive from nearby attractions, like Boulder’s landmark Pearl Street and Longmont’s scenic St. Vrain State Park. You’ll book it for its proximity to Front Range towns, but you’ll return for its special touches, like craftsman-made flourishes and floor-to-ceiling fireplaces. Choose from chic, Southwestern-styled standard rooms, suites and apartments, then book a spa treatment (or two or three).

What makes it special?

Every night, the Niwot hosts a cheese-and-wine hour for guests. Sip on a glass of shimmering, gem-colored vino and nibble on charcuterie-board goodies as you mingle with other travelers. If it’s warm enough, you can enjoy it on the flower-splashed patio — or in front of the great room’s crackling fire.

The most Colorado thing about this place

It’s the more “active” amenities like the inn’s complimentary bikes and all the nearby paths perfect for walking and jogging.

Most unexpected amenity

We hear all the rooms boast fancy heated toilet seats. That’s pretty unexpected, indeed.

Top sensory encounter you’ll experience

Our vote is a classic Swedish massage to ease away muscle tension, followed by a loooong, detoxifying steam shower in the spa. Or, to up the wellness ante, consider more unique offerings, like cupping and craniosacral therapy.

Our favorite traveler review

“Staying at the Niwot Inn made our visit to the Boulder area very special. It was our retreat after a day of sightseeing. The blazing fire in the great room was so welcoming, along with the staff, the delicious cookies, and the evening wine and cheese. Our queen suite was very comfortable and having the fireplace there brought cozy warmth during the cold winter weather. We also loved the heated toilet seat — who knew? Nicole, Clarissa, and Cornelia were all very helpful and recommended restaurants and things to see and do. The town of Niwot is quiet and quaint. It's about a 90-minute-or-less drive to ski areas and Cheyenne and less than an hour to Denver. Boulder is seven to 10 minutes. This is a great place to stay.” — Joanne G., Tripadvisor
