Kebler Corner

Kebler Corner

Located at the base of Kebler Pass in Somerset, along the West Elk Loop scenic and historic byway, Kebler Corner is your home base to explore vast swaths of Colorado mountain and farm country.

Here you’ll find woodsy cabins, well-manicured RV spots and roughing-it tent camping all with quick access to hiking and fishing along the scenic North Fork of the Gunnison River. For those always-connected folks: Going camping doesn’t mean you have to give up Wi-Fi access (yes, you’ll have it here), plus an on-site general and liquor store stocked with local wines will give you some comforts of home.

What makes it special?

It’s how well cared for the entire property is — from the flower beds planted between RV sites to the biggest log cabin, called Marcellina, that boasts its own fire pit, patio seating and proximity to a private hiking trail.

The most Colorado thing about this place

It’s all the hiking, biking, fishing and more, all while enjoying views of the area’s revered West Elk Mountains, that’ll make this spot worthy of a return visit. Check the site for special events, like yoga retreats.

Quirkiest thing to expect

The cabins all carry Western-themed monikers. Marcellina Cabin is named for Marcellina Mountain in the West Elk range. Doc Holliday’s Cabin is named for Colorado’s infamous gambling dentist. And we’re guessing Wyatt’s Cabin is named for Doc’s gambling buddy Wyatt Earp.

Top sensory encounter you’ll experience

The burbling sounds of Anthracite Creek will lull you to dreamland each night. It’ll be like you have your own personal sound machine with Mother Nature as your DJ.

Our favorite traveler review

“This was our first stay. The RV site was exceptionally clean and shaded by lots of beautiful trees. Our two labs loved the dog area with lots of grass. Anthracite Creek running behind the property was relaxing and peaceful. Sweet general store and spirits area with great area wines. The owners and staff were extremely accommodating. They continually went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They sincerely want everyone to have a memorable camping experience. We are recommending Kebler Corner to family, friends and acquaintances and plan to be lifelong campers here!! A+A+A+” — deb123000, Tripadvisor
