Highland Haven

Highland Haven Creekside Inn

Situated in a wooded area along the banks of the burbling Bear Creek, Evergreen’s secluded Highland Haven Creekside Inn delivers a big dose of nature just 40 minutes from Denver.

Featuring rustic mountain charm in a comfortably upscale setting, a visit to Highland Haven means you’ll enjoy plenty of pampering and tranquility. Custom-made for romance, cottages, suites and guest rooms offer all the amenities — from flat-screens and fireplaces to hot tubs and remarkable views. Wake up to a full home-cooked breakfast to fuel up for another day of doing as much as you want or nothing at all. An attentive staff can cater to your every need.

What makes it special?

If you’re looking for a getaway tailormade for two, there’s simply no better place. Take a walk along Lovers Lane, linger by a babbling brook, sip at the complimentary happy hour, then enjoy sparkling wine and chocolates before checking out your private balcony or toasty hot tub. What’s not to love?

The most "Colorado" thing about this place

Highland Haven loves protecting Colorado’s precious natural resources, so it’s no surprise you’ll find a Tesla charging station for guests to use on site.

Quirkiest thing to expect

At a place all about love, you can order a steppingstone with your initials to be placed on the property’s Lovers Lane or a personalized lock you can attach to a 6-foot heart sculpture along the creek. Or, get this: They’ll hand burnish your initials on a log collected from the property that you can take home for the most unusual of souvenirs.

Most striking feature

There are so many elegant ways Highland Haven incorporates the outdoors into its decor, including intricate stone and iron work plus wood and glass accents throughout. A favorite touch? Faucets in some rooms pour into sinks made from large hollowed-out tree trunks.

Highland Haven

Coolest amenity

You can order rose petals, bubbly, berries or chocolate to spice up your night, or take advantage of one of the inn’s popular Romance Trays that combine those treats with flowers, flutes, a “cuddle blanket” and more.

Best room to book

The suites, lofts and cottages are all worthy of booking, but how often can you brag about sleeping in the trees? The inn’s gloriously private TreeHouse is a magical three-level hideaway blinged out with a sparkling chandelier, stained glass, an iron-and-stone fireplace, a two-person steam shower, a spa room with a “Champagne bubble” soaking tub and spectacular views of the towering blue spruces that flank the house right outside your window.

Top sensory encounter you’ll experience

Breathe in the smells, sights and sounds of nature in the inn’s Fireside Loft accommodation. With views of Fern Gulch and a private canopied outdoor hot tub, you can fully appreciate being one with nature.

Favorite traveler review

“Highland Haven Creekside Inn is just a heavenly place in the oh-so-beautiful Evergreen, CO. We stayed here for our Valentine’s Day celebration and, let me tell you, nothing could be more romantic. The cottages are beautiful, the creek flows right in the middle of this beautiful inn, breakfast is amazing, staff is absolutely wonderful, and they take care of you and your every need. The inn is at a walking distance from all the local eateries, pubs and, more importantly, the Evergreen Lake. The inn in itself is so beyond beautiful, cozy and romantic that you actually don't feel like ever leaving from this heaven. It’s a must-must-must do if you love beautiful things.” — 1320richas, Tripadvisor
