Garden of the Gods Club & Resort

Garden of the Gods Resort & Club

Colorado Springs’ luxurious Garden of the Gods Resort & Club is the ultimate relaxation escape. And with a central location just moments away from the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center, you’ll love its easy access to the area’s well-known red-rock spires and meandering hiking trails.

Raising the stakes on opulence, this resort-style retreat delivers on recreation and R&R. The moment you wake up on an absurdly comfortable bed, you’ll be greeted with jaw-dropping panoramas of the Front Range — the peaks might even be in the clouds. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg: You’ll also find an unending list of amenities, including a handful of decadent on-site dining options. Whether you want pampering at the spa and the perfect new haircut or to loosen up that tennis elbow and explore the rolling golf greens, you’ll find an activity that’s sure to please.

What makes it special?

It’s 100 percent the postcard-worthy views of Garden of the Gods and the tippy top of Pikes Peak  from the infinity pool. Named one of nine beautiful hotel pools across the U.S. by The Points Guy, this aquamarine glory is worth your fingers pruning.

The most Colorado thing about this place

The club opened in 1951 and has always evoked quintessential lodge vibes. We’re talkin’ peaked roofs, stone walls, floor-to-ceiling windows and lots of wood accents — along with numerous Christmas-ready fir trees that line the outdoor spaces. Combined, it all makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a tailor-made Colorado tourism commercial.

Most unexpected amenity

Pickleball! For those not in the know, this entertaining lawn sport is like badminton meets ping pong. Lace up your tennis shoes (or should we say pickleball sneakers?) and get out on a specialized forest-green-colored court at the M & M Tennis Center to defeat the family. Whoever wins buys a round at The Rocks Lounge & Dining Room. The basil old fashioned cocktail (bourbon, Irish whiskey, basil, simple and bitters) is a solid selection.

Best room to book

Check into one of the casitas for over-the-top splendor. Each unit is basically a house and promises a private patio, fireplace, full kitchen and, as you may have guessed, an extraordinary view of the surrounding mountains. A soaking tub, Nespresso machine and plush robe will round out your stay.

Top sensory experience you’ll encounter

The STRATA Med center provides concierge medicine redefined and personalized for you. Might we suggest a functional neurology chiropractic session? You’ll crack and stretch in the most delicious ways.

Our favorite traveler review

“This resort is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. You are surrounded by amazing views, plush landscape and high-level amenities. The restaurant is a wonderful place — amazing view and delicious food. The coffee shop is one of my favorite places with smoothies, amazing pastries and Starbucks! The resort’s chef is incredible and every meal we had was so reasonably priced and worthy of a five-star rating. The staff here is also fabulous — totally focused on making your experience special. … Can’t wait to go back!!” — ztakendra, Tripadvisor

What you’ll find nearby

The Colorado Springs region has more than 50 attractions, so you have all of those at your fingertips; but our pick is the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Feel the sandpapery, black tongue of a giraffe as you hand-feed the majestically tall creatures. More of a sports fanatic? The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum has pretty much everything a human could ever want to know about the games in the form of one-of-a-kind artifacts. Oh, and don’t forget a trip to the nearby Garden of the Gods. The 1,300 acres of soaring sandstone outcroppings will transport your mind to another planet — maybe Mars.
