The Eddy Taproom & Hotel
Set in the beer-loving town of Golden, just steps away from the babbling waters of Clear Creek, you’ll find The Eddy Taproom & Hotel. That’s right — a taproom-hotel hybrid in a city filled with eclectic eateries, awesome local shops, craft brews and outdoor adventure. Oh, you’re already booking your reservation? We don’t blame you, but we’re still gonna tell you some cool stuff about this place.
Rich blues and golden yellows converge with a light industrial vibe in the hotel’s rooms and suites. Some offer bonus sleeper sofas for little ones, while others boast mountain views. Regardless of which you opt for, you’ll have an excellent basecamp for adventuring in the Front Range Mountains.
What makes it special?
Did we mention the taproom? Because an ample supply of delicious local beers seems pretty special to us. Sip from more than two dozen rotating options — on tap and in cans and bottles — including their house beer, The Eddy Pale Ale. When you’re hungry, order from a full menu featuring everything from bison meatballs and hearty grain bowls to s’mores bread pudding.
The most “Colorado” thing about this place
The most “Colorado” thing about The Eddy is … well, all the Colorado that surrounds you, right down to the rugged peaks you can see from some rooms. The hotel is a short five-minute bike ride from Clear Creek White Water Park, where you can drop in a tube or kayak and whoosh and whoop in summer. (You’ll find plenty of nearby outfitters to get you set up for a day on the water.) Or, cycle the 20-mile Clear Creek Trail, tour the Coors Brewery and explore the state’s geology at the Mines Museum of Earth Science.
Let’s see … maybe it’s the beer tasting at check-in. Or the access to mountain bikes and e-bikes. Although, it could be the fitness classes, 24-hour fitness center or rooftop patios with fire pits. Let us think on it over a pint in the taproom and get back to you.
Our favorite traveler review
“This is an absolutely wonderful property. Our room was bright and cheery with all the latest amenities, the staff was friendly and helpful and the outdoor space with fire pit was a perfect place to enjoy a beverage from the bar. There is a beautiful walking path that connects to the downtown Golden area. We come here every year to visit our son, and this will definitely be our place stay.” — Joe J., Google
